Rodgers Provides Maddison Fitness Update
- Brendan Rodgers gives a fitness update ahead of Wednesday’s trip to face Everton
- City are at Goodison Park for the second time this season for the behind-closed-doors fixture (6pm kick-off)
- Rodgers says James Maddison has made progress after sustaining a knock but could miss the game
- The Northern Irishman added that there are no new injury concerns for his side
England international Maddison, who missed Sunday's Emirates FA Cup Quarter-Final against Chelsea, is likely to be absent once more for Wednesday's trip to Goodison Park (6pm kick-off).
Speaking in his virtual pre-match press conference with the national and international media on Monday afternoon, Rodgers commented: “He’s still a doubt, so we’ll see how he is tomorrow.
“If he’s not available [on Wednesday], then he should be ready at the weekend (vs. Crystal Palace). He’s made good progress over the last couple of days.”
With seven games to go, we’re in an absolutely brilliant position. We’ll be focusing on us, staying in the present, and looking to get the three points.

Other than Maddison’s knock, Rodgers reported a clean bill of health for his squad, with two days until City are back on the road. Portugal international full-back Ricardo Pereira, meanwhile, continues to recover from an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained in March.
The Northern Irishman says the Foxes are all fully focussed on returning to form after two draws from their opening Premier League fixtures since the restart.
Performance Was Improved, Says Rodgers
Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers was encouraged by the Foxes' display, despite an FA Cup defeat by Chelsea on Sunday.
“Obviously, the break has disrupted us a little bit, but I have great confidence in the squad,” Rodgers added. “We have to live with that expectancy and the fact that’s there means they’re doing something right. If a little bit of negativity comes, that’s fine, but they have to just focus on improving and getting better.
