City's No.7 sealed the points for the Foxes in the latter stages on Filbert Way.

Chris Powell said: "They were outstanding from minute one. It's in stark contrast to last week. They looked assured, excellent defensively, and I can’t remember Kasper [Schmeichel] making too many saves. They looked a real threat all through the game, not just on the counter late on."

Full-time celebrations among the Foxes ranks in the middle of the pitch.

Steve Walsh said: "It’s a much-needed win. From a performance point of view, it was dominant, and they were ruthless in the right moments. They were commanding at the back and it was almost a simple win. They worked so hard. It only looked that way because of the effort they put in."

City's backline was praised extensively on City On The Sofa.

Gerry Taggart said: "A great performance from Leicester City. They were solid as a rock at the back. They always had an attacking threat with Jamie [Vardy], Harvey [Barnes], Ayoze and then Demarai Gray coming on. Young Thomas, on his debut, had a fantastic game as well. A great all-round performance."

Rodgers congratulates Thomas on a fine senior debut for the Football Club.

Chris Powell said: "The cherry on top for me is the way they gave a young player from the Academy his debut and he looks like he’s been playing there all season! He was so assured and he settled into the game really well and it was capped off by him laying on the assist for the first goal."
