- He is fourth on the Club’s all-time leading scorer list with 129 goals

The Sheffield-born striker, who turned 33 in January, produced one of his best seasons in 2019/20, scoring 23 times to win the Premier League Golden Boot as City secured fifth place and a return to European competition.

Jamie became the 29th player to pass 100 Premier League goals in July and was named Player of the Season by both the Club’s supporters and his team-mates in Leicester City’s End of Season Awards later that month.

With 129 goals from 309 appearances, he is now fourth in City’s all-time scoring records, with 103 of those strikes coming in the top-flight.

Speaking to LCFC.com, Vardy said: “The journey that I’ve been on with this Football Club is hard to describe, and although we’ve accomplished so much together already, I know that I’ve got so much more to achieve with this team, so it’s a special feeling to be able to commit my future to Leicester City once again.

“I love playing my football in front of our fans at King Power Stadium and I’m delighted to continue this journey at such an exciting time for the Club. We’ve a fantastic team that I believe is capable of getting even better and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together in the next few years.”

Signed from then non-league Fleetwood Town in 2012, Vardy has established himself as one of the leading strikers in English football.

He was a key figure in the Club’s promotion to the top-flight in 2013/14, netting on 16 occasions, and played a vital role in the historic escape from relegation upon City’s return to the Premier League.

The Sheffield-born forward made history during Leicester’s 2015/16 title-winning season, scoring 24 times, including in 11 consecutive Premier League games, breaking Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s record of 10 with a brilliant finish against Manchester United at King Power Stadium in November 2015.

Vardy’s crucial away goal against Seville in the last-16 of an incredible run in the UEFA Champions League the following season secured City a place in the last eight of the famous competition, where they were the last-remaining English representative.

His remarkable form in front of goal continued in 2017/18 as he netted 24 times in all competitions, while he added to his tally a year later with 18 goals as the Foxes finished in ninth position in the Premier League, having been under the stewardship of Rodgers since February 2019.

His century of Premier League strikes came against Crystal Palace last season on his way to achieving the honour of becoming the oldest winner of the Golden Boot with 23 goals during 2019/20.

Vardy made his international debut in June 2015 against the Republic of Ireland, and currently has 26 caps for his country, scoring on seven occasions. He represented the Three Lions at UEFA Euro 2016 and the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
