Regional Talent Club Goalkeeper Coach
Who We Are
Working closely with Leicester City in the Community and Leicester City Football Club, Leicester City Girls’ Regional Talent Club (RTC) is the only elite female youth football programme in Leicestershire, being an integral part of the FA Girls’ England Talent Pathway.
The programme aims to identify young talented female players and place them in a technical programme designed to produce football excellence combined with personal development in a supportive and stimulating environment.
In preparation for the season ahead, Leicester City RTC has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Head Goalkeeper Coach to join our dynamic team.
About The Role
Through attendance at RTC trials, training sessions and matches during the season and pre-season, the successful applicant will play a key role in identifying talented players.
In collaboration with the RTC Technical Director, the Head Goalkeeper Coach will assist in the development of each individual player to her full potential by reviewing, measuring and recording her individual progress within the FA’s 4-corner model.
The focus will be to work with each individual player on an ongoing basis to set appropriate challenges and targets to help her to achieve them within a team setting.
The role involves attending a minimum of two coaching sessions per week and the potential for matchdays (generally Saturday mornings within the Tier 1 RTC Programme), but to include some friendlies and other organised fixtures on other evenings.
Following a training programme devised by the TD, the Goalkeeper Coach will be involved in the planning of coaching sessions and working closely to develop the squad on an individual and team basis incorporating such aspects as: technical work, skill development and game-related practices that give Relevance, Realism and Repetition.
All technical coaching staff will be expected to provide on-going formal and informal support to players and focus on the players’ individual plans as well as wider team strategies.
