Sowah, 20, has been in red-hot form for OHL this term during their first top-flight campaign in Belgium since 2015/16, scoring four goals for Marc Brys' men.
Following Thomas Henry's opener, the young Foxes loanee collected the ball on the hour-mark, turning inside his man, and curling an effort into the far corner from 20 yards out.
Former West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City forward Saido Berahino got one back for Waregem, but the home side held on at King Power at Den Dreef Stadium for a fourth win in 2020/21.
OHL currently sit sixth in the Jupiler Pro League after eight matches, with 14 points to their name, ahead of facing Knokke at Stadion Olivier in the Belgian Cup Fifth Round on Sunday 11 October (3pm kick-off).
Kamal Sowah
Sowah has been in impressive form for OHL this season.
Goalkeeper Daniel Iversen and forward Josh Eppiah - also on season-long loans in Leuven - did not feature for Brys' men through injury.
Centre-back Darnell Johnson, meanwhile, made his full debut for Wigan Athletic in a 1-0 home win for the Latics over Doncaster Rovers in Sky Bet League 1 on Saturday.
Joe Garner's second-half goal was enough to settle a tight encounter at the DW Stadium as Wigan climbed to 10th in the third tier of English football.

Finally, striker George Hirst also made his third appearance for Rotherham United in a 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town in the Championship on Saturday.
The Millers appeared set to register a second win of the season following a Ben Wiles effort in the first half, but an Angus MacDonald own goal resulted in a draw at AESSEAL New York Stadium.
Twelfth-placed Rotherham next welcome Norwich City to south Yorkshire on Saturday 17 October (3pm kick-off).
