Thomas: A Great Feeling To Be Involved
- Luke Thomas says it is ‘a great feeling’ being involved in Leicester City’s senior set up this campaign
- The 19-year-old left-back starred in City’s consecutive victories over Leeds United and SC Braga
- This week’s wins set new Club records, with Thomas featuring from start to finish in both games
The Syston local’s enthralling journey from Academy hopeful to first team star has this season gathered pace after he made his senior debut for the Club in the summer.
Thomas, 19, started in the back-to-back victories over Leeds United in the Premier League and Thursday’s encounter with SC Braga in the UEFA Europa League.
Now, his aim is to continue his consistent performances for the Foxes, who next face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Sunday.
“Obviously, it's a great feeling, getting the chance,” Thomas told LCFC TV. “I'm hoping to continue doing that and [I'll] try my best for the team and hopefully keep my place.

The Academy graduate made his European debut as a half-time substitute versus AEK Athens.
“It was only the day before that I got told (about his involvement vs. Leeds), to be fair, but in a way it helps because I had to get my concentration on quick, obviously with only a day until the game.
“But I felt like I dealt with that quite well and going into the game, I was quite positive and I felt good, and obviously it worked out coming away with three points.”
His latest Premier League involvement saw City break another Club record, as they surged to their biggest-ever win at Elland Road following a 4-1 success in Yorkshire.
Goals: Leeds United 1 Leicester City 4
All the goals from the Foxes' superb victory away at Elland Road.
Then, three days later, he started against SC Braga in the Europa League, with the Foxes recording their all-time largest win in Europe.
“We were all buzzing,” he said of Monday’s triumph. “Before the game, we knew it was going to be a very tough task, but we dealt with that throughout the game. We set up a game plan, so it paid off massively.
“I feel like it was a very big game and we came away with a massive three points away from home.
“Obviously, it only becomes tougher with Wolves next, then the week after, we go to Anfield, so it's about getting onto the next game and hopefully, we can go out there and get another three points.”
