Maddison: We Expect A Strong Braga Side
- James Maddison says SC Braga will show fight during their Group G encounter on Thursday night
- The Leicester City No.10 spoke to the media at Estádio Municipal de Braga the day before the match
- Maddison commented on Braga’s talented squad and manager prior to the clash
In their last Group G outing, the Foxes recorded their all-time biggest win in Europe, defeating the Portuguese outfit at Leicester City Stadium, with Maddison on the scoresheet on a memorable night in Leicester.
However, the England star believes the decisive fixture, which could potentially see City progress to the knockout stages with two games to spare, will be a much tougher prospect for his side this time around.
“I think Braga are a lot better than what they showed at King Power Stadium,” he told the media during a press conference at SC Braga’s stadium on Wednesday.

Enjoy all four goals scored by the Foxes in their Europa League victory over SC Braga on Thursday evening.
“We watched the clips and did our analysis pre-game in the first game at home. We saw some very good stuff, some very good players.
“They have a talented manager, who I played against in England. I think he’s tactically very good, so we’re expecting a very strong Braga side like the first time and we’ll prepare no differently.”
City set out a target of qualification from Group G at the beginning of their fifth European campaign, and while Maddison is hopeful they will achieve that goal come late evening on Thursday, he knows that Braga will show fight in their own quest to progress.
We’ll be prepared for Braga to come out fighting because I think they’ll want to come back at us, especially after the result and the scoreline at King Power Stadium.
James Maddison
“We’ve got a job to do,” he said, “We’ve had a great start in the Europa League. We know that. We’ve been solid, we’ve won three games out of three, but we know going away in Europa is always tough. It’s never easy.
“We’ll prepare no differently, we’ll prepare like any other game, whether it’s in Europe or the Premier League. We’ll do our research and our homework on the opposition.
