The Portugal international full-back made his return from injury on Thursday after a 270-day absence due to an ACL injury he suffered in March against Aston Villa.

He completed 45 minutes against Zorya Luhansk, and while Ricardo was frustrated with the full-time result, he knows the Foxes will learn from their narrow loss in Ukraine.

“We have to learn from this game, not to do the same errors that we did, and take the good things we did to get back on track to winning games,” Ricardo told LCFC TV.

“That’s what we want. We have to change the chip straight away, because we have an important game on Sunday.

It’s just recovery, and we’ll get ready for the game, because the time between games is short. It’s short and sharp training to pick up off of the things for the game.

“It will be a tough game. Even that game that we won (vs. Sheffield United in 2019) was very difficult, I remember. I’m sure Sunday will be the same.

“We have to go with the same desire, the same ambition, and we’ll have to be at our best to take the three points. That’s the most important thing in the game.”

With just three days in between their clash with Zorya and Sunday’s trip to south Yorkshire, City are tasked with a tight turnaround period, but Ricardo says that will not hamper their preparations for their next Premier League outing.

“It’s more recovery, especially for the guys who played,” Ricardo said when asked about City’s training schedule ahead of the Sheffield United match.

“It’s just recovery, and we’ll get ready for the game, because the time between games is short. It’s short and sharp training to get a couple of things straight for the game.”
