- Sophie Harris speaks to LCFC TV after joining LCFC Women on a permanent deal from Watford
- The goalkeeper has signed a deal to 2022 with the Foxes
- Harris spoke of LCFC Women’s winning mentality and the Club’s Belvoir Drive facilities during her maiden interview as a City player
Harris, 26, has signed a deal with the Foxes to the summer of 2022, having previously spent time at Arsenal, Lewes, Brighton & Hove Albion and most recently Watford.
The England youth international outlined why she chose to join the Club during her first interview as a Fox, as well as setting out her targets for the remainder of the 2020/21 season.
“I’m excited to get things going,” the shot-stopper said. “I’ve had a look already and I’ve met a few of the girls, and they’ve been really nice, really welcoming.
“Jonathan [Morgan], straight away, was really positive and keen to get me in. Then, when I came down here, obviously the facilities are amazing and I think it gives you the platform to be the best you can, really, and really kick on.
The shot-stopper trains at Belvoir Drive following her move from Watford.
“They’re in a great place already, their first half of the season has been really good, so hopefully I can bring in some experience and some competition, and hopefully help in the second half of the season to keep going.”
With LCFC Women currently top of the FA Women’s Championship standings, the 26-year-old says joining a group with such a fierce winning mentality has brought with it added excitement.
“That’s what we’re here to do – to win games,” she added. “They’ve had a great start, and it’s just about not getting complacent now and making sure the second half of the season is the same.
I’m really excited. I’m excited to settle in and compete, and hopefully help the girls. They’re in a great position at the moment, but [I want to] help keep them going and see what happens.

“It’s a very ambitious club. The facilities are great, and it’s a great group of girls. The staff have been really welcoming as well, so yes, overall, it’s been really positive and I’m keen to get going.”
LCFC Women’s permanent move to Belvoir Drive will see them based at the complex, and Harris was suitably impressed by the training ground’s facilities upon signing for the Foxes.
She said: “They’re outstanding. To have this facility as a women’s base, you don’t get many set-ups like this.
“It’s a great foundation for us to work at and hopefully it’ll help us, even if it’s a one per cent or 10 per cent improvement – that’ll help us when we go out onto the pitch.
