While the Foxes remain third in the Premier League, they go into Wednesday's clash in Lancashire on the back of a defeat by Arsenal, while the Clarets were also beaten on Sunday, by Tottenham Hotspur.
Ahead of that encounter, key figures from both dressing rooms have spoken in the media to preview what promises to be an intriguing fixture...
Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers speaks to the media on Monday: "It’s a process, now, over these next three months, and it’s one we’re really going to enjoy. We’ll have to play well. Every game in this league, anything is possible. You can go and win, lose or draw. For us, it’s about recovering now. Our focus is on ourselves. We’ve had injuries, of course, but we’ve also had European football to contend with. With some teams, that can be difficult, but our players have been brilliant. Whenever you go into the game, you have to be fully committed. In the Premier League, you come up against different styles, but whatever that is, you have to have the belief, commitment and confidence to get a result."
Sean Dyche discusses the condensed fixture schedule for his own side: "I think they are missing a few good young players and I appreciate Brendan’s challenges because we’ve had a lot ourselves. It all comes down to us focusing on what we do and getting back to where we were just a short while ago. It’s not ideal and neither of us wanted the game this week, but we all know the challenge. It’s not like it's been thrust upon us out of the blue. We knew where the game schedule was going to be loaded this year and I don’t remotely want to be picking fault. We’re all in this together and when the whistle blows shortly against Leicester, we have to be ready to perform."
Young City defender Luke Thomas on the opposition: "We know that Burnley have qualities, we know their style of play and what they’re going to do, so we’ll look at that. Hopefully, we can play our own game. If we do that with high quality, and what we’ve been doing for most of this season, we can go out there and get the win. It was in the first couple of games (4-2 win over Burnley in September), and that’s probably what has got us where we are now. We had some great results at the start of the season. We gained so many points and that was such a good game, that game. We won 4-2, and we’d gone behind."
Left-back Charlie Taylor speaks to burnleyfootballclub.com: "We’ve got the perfect chance to forget about Sunday with a game so quickly again. It’s another top team in Leicester but we’re at home and we’ll fancy ourselves to try and get a result. It’s always seemed to have been a big game (against Leicester) and it is another big game on Wednesday. In recent seasons we’ve done well – especially at home – against them and hopefully we can carry that on and get a result against them. They are tough games coming up but if we can get a few points and keep on ticking over coming up to that break I think that would be the perfect scenario."
