Talking Heads: Rodgers, Moyes, Fofana & Bowen Preview Sunday's Encounter
- West Ham United host Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday (2:05pm kick-off)
- The Foxes hold a slender lead over the east London outfit in the top flight standings
- Brendan Rodgers and David Moyes stages press conferences on Friday afternoon
- Wesley Fofana and Jarrod Bowen also addressed the media over the past week
The third-placed Foxes currently hold a four-point advantage over the Hammers in the Premier League standings with eight games to play, but suffered defeat by David Moyes' men earlier in the season.
Ahead of Sunday's encounter, the two managers spoke during pre-match press conferences, while players from either dressing room were also on media duties.
Brendan Rodgers
Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers watches on during last week's clash with Manchester City on Filbert Way.
Brendan Rodgers on tackling the east London outfit: "David [Moyes] has done a great job, it's not a surprise to me. He came in through last season so he's having to find out about the players again and some new players. He's had a short pre-season and had a chance to work with them and know exactly what it is he wants and then to bring players in. He's moulded them into a very tough team to beat, very organised. His organisational skills, his experience and quality as a manager and then always alongside that you need good players and they’ve got some outstanding players."
David Moyes
West Ham manager David Moyes is hoping to guide the club into European football.
Hammers manager David Moyes said: "Have I got enough time to talk about Leicester’s main threats? They’re an incredibly good side, they’re doing well this season and have done for a while, they’re in the semi-final of the FA Cup so we’re up against a top team and a team who have been competing up the top end of the league for quite a few seasons. I think the way they have gone about their business and the way they have worked have been very good. Brendan has done a great job. They are competitive, they’re challenging the top teams and they’ve certainly broken into the top six."
Wesley Fofana
Young French defender has impressed many since his move from Saint-Étienne last summer.
Foxes defender Wesley Fofana told LCFC TV this week: "I feel really, really good. We’ve been positive since the start of the season. Now, it’s all about winning as many games as we possibly can and we’re going to do everything in our power to try and make that happen. I’m a happy go-lucky sort of guy. I’ve got to be happy because everything is going really well considering it’s my first year. If we can achieve all of our objectives between now and the end of the season, I’ll be even happier. It’s gone really, really well. Above all, the settling in period has been very, very quick."
Jarrod Bowen
Jarrod Bowen came off the bench to score for the Hammers in their 3-2 win at Wolves.
"Every time I play, I always give 110 per cent," West Ham midfielder Jarrod Bowen said to West Ham TV. "I obviously wasn’t in the starting XI (vs. Wolves) but I was always ready for whenever my chance was going to come. Unfortunately Mick (Michail Antonio) picked up a knock, these things happen, and I just had to do a quick warm-up and get on the pitch and two minutes later the ball was in the back of the net, so it’s all about being ready and I’m always ready to give my all."
