Speaking ahead of City’s second home fixture in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League, the 22-year-old discussed the amazing atmosphere created on Filbert Way against Manchester United and how it could spur the team on again come Sunday.

The defender revealed that she hopes to reward the Blue Army for their magnificent support so far this season by producing a positive result in the 2pm kick-off versus Tottenham Hotspur.

“All you have to do is speak to your team-mates or friends within the game to realise how incredibly lucky we are,” Tierney told CITY Matchday Magazine earlier this week. “A lot of people look from the outside and say the same.

“I look back to the first game we had there, and the atmosphere was great. The number of fans that we had proved why Leicester is the club that it is. To be able to play in the city, in the men’s stadium, feeling a part of the Club, really made a difference to us.

“It made us want to succeed and give back. I hope we can have as many fans as possible with us for the game against Spurs, because they really made a difference and giving something back to the fans is something we’re focused on during the week.”
