Lookman Striving To Continue Impressive Recent Form
- Leicester City face Burnley at Turf Moor in the Premier League on Saturday (3pm GMT kick-off)
- Ademola Lookman is hoping to continue his impressive form for the Foxes
- The on-loan forward has netted in three of his previous five Premier League outings
- He also discusses the stop-start nature of City's recent fixture schedule due to postponements
The Foxes are due in Lancashire for their 19th top-flight outing of the 2021/22 campaign against Sean Dyche's Clarets, who are currently in the relegation zone. When the two sides met in September, though, a late second from Jamie Vardy secured a 2-2 draw for the Foxes at King Power Stadium.
Lookman made his first start for the Club in that fixture, after joining on loan from RB Leipzig in the summer, and the 24-year-old has scored three goals in his last five Premier League outings. Ahead of tackling Burnley on Saturday, Lookman caught up with LCFC TV to preview Leicester's next fixture.
"Everybody knows Burnley’s a tough game," the former Everton forward said. "They make the game very difficult. They play in areas and play to areas where we’re going to need to match on Saturday. We’re up for the challenge. We’re looking to match them and take the game to them also.
"That’s important. We’ve definitely, this week, prepared for that. We’re prepared for their game plan and what they may throw at us."
Helping the team and producing is something I’ve been looking to do. I’m getting the chance to do that and I’m looking forward to doing it more.

Lookman's impressive recent form included a winner against Liverpool at King Power Stadium on 28 December. He is determined to continuing delivering key match involvements, notably goals and assists, for the Foxes as they look to climb the Premier League standings.
"It was a special night," he recalled, looking back to that success over Liverpool. "It was a very important three points. We were playing probably the best two teams in the Premier League in the short space of three days. We showed a lot in those games. To get the three points against Liverpool was vital.
"It’s been a great few weeks, a positive few weeks. I’ve made a lot of progress and I’ll look to make more during these next few months coming up.
"Helping the team and producing is something I’ve been looking to do. I’m getting the chance to do that and I’m looking forward to doing it more. A lot of it is about the performance and then the rest will come. If you perform well and keep performing well, naturally you want those goals and assists.
"Those things will come naturally when you perform. I always look to perform and help the team and that’s what I do every single week."
Two fixtures in 2022 have been postponed but, for Lookman, his focus has been on ensuring he is prepared to feature for the Foxes in the games which do go ahead over the coming weeks.
"It’s been difficult in terms of obviously getting ready for a fixture and then it being postponed," Wandsworth-born Ademola continued. "With the times we’re in, it’s something you have to accept, but as players, we’ve just got to stay ready for the next one.
"For me, it’s just about being on the training pitch, and taking in whatever information him or his coaching staff want to give to me. As long as I’m ready and healthy, I’ll look to [make an impact]."
