Leicester City’s Under-18s scored twice in the final 15 minutes to defeat Chelsea Under-18s 2-0 in Saturday’s U18 Premier League South encounter at Cobham Training Centre.
Making three switches from the team narrowly beaten by West Ham United a week prior, in came Zach Booth and Chris Popov following their appearances for the Under-23s and there was also a change in goal as Arlo Doherty replaced Kelechi Chibueze and captained the side.
After a goalless first half, the game sprung into life on 76 minutes when Jack Butterfill teed up Brandon Cover to break the deadlock in the capital.
Eight minutes later, the travelling Foxes youngsters secured all three points, netting for a second time courtesy of half-time substitute Amani Richards’ goal, assisted by Thomas Wilson-Brown.
A second success in three games, the result moves Leicester's Under-18s up into fifth position in the league standings, two points above the Blues, having collected a total of 41 points from their 22 fixtures.
There are four games to go in 2021/22, starting with a home game against West Bromwich Albion at LCFC Training Ground on Tuesday morning (11am BST kick-off).
