Play Our Own Game, Says Thomas
- Leicester City face Stockport County at Edgeley Park in the second round of the Carabao Cup
- The 7:45pm kick-off on Tuesday sees Premier League visitors face Sky Bet League 2 hosts
- Young Foxes full-back Luke Thomas says his team-mates must rise to the occasion in the North West
- Handling the atmosphere and showing City's quality will be key to their chances, he says
The Foxes head to Edgeley Park to face Dave Challinor's Sky Bet League 2 outfit in the second round of a competition which the Club has won on three previous occasions. Without a win in the Premier League, a victory in Stockport could also serve as a helpful confidence booster for City.
"Obviously, this season, with not being in Europe and only having one game a week most weeks, to get a cup run in there would be brilliant for us and that’s what’ll look to do on Tuesday," Thomas told LCFC TV earlier this week. "Hopefully we can get the result we want.
They’re going to be right up for it, obviously, playing against a Premier League side. They’ll want to get after you early doors and we know that.

"The cup brings a completely different mentality to what the Premier League is. It’s a knockout occasion and you have to win the game to go to the next round and we believe we can do that."
As National League champions, Stockport returned to the Sky Bet Football League this term, picking up a solitary win – beating Colchester United 1-0 earlier this month – from their opening five League 2 matches. It's likely to be a raucous home crowd with greets Leicester too.
"You know you’ll get the atmosphere against you," Thomas added. "They’re going to be right up for it, obviously, playing against a Premier League side. They’ll want to get after you early doors and we know that. As long as we show our quality, we can hopefully come through the game and get the result.
If we bring our A-game and our qualities then we’re more than capable of winning the game.

"It’s about playing our own game and not being overwhelmed by their support. We know we can do that and if we bring our A-game and our qualities then we’re more than capable of winning the game.
"With them getting promoted to the Football League last season, that’s going to be a real bonus for them. They’ll have brought in a few players as well on top of that so they’ll be a lot stronger this year and we know that. Hopefully we can play our game on Tuesday and get the result."
