Dewsbury-Hall: We Go There With Confidence
- Leicester City tackle Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday (3pm BST kick-off)
- Midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall wants the Foxes to show more ruthlessness in games
- He also provides reasons why City can be confident heading into the west London encounter
The Foxes have one point from their opening three Premier League matches in 2022/23, a tally which satisfies nobody at the Club. However, following Tuesday's Carabao Cup success at Stockport County, and another week of work at LCFC Training Ground, City's No.22 remains confident.
Dewsbury-Hall says Leicester's players have done their research on Thomas Tuchel's Blues and hope to showcase their learnings on Saturday.
"It’s a big game for us against tough opposition," he told LCFC TV this week. "We’re trying to get the first three points of the season and everyone in the dressing room is looking forward to it. We’re going there with full confidence. We’re going to try our best to get our first three points.
"We know they’re a good team, but we also know they’ve got bits you can exploit. We’ve been working hard, looking at clips on how to do that, and trying to implement our own style. We know they’re probably going to improve after that game (a 3-0 loss to Leeds United last weekend).
We know we can get in those positions and then it’s about, when we’re ahead, just being relentless and not taking our foot off the gas.

"It’s been a tough loss for them, so they’re going to come back fighting, but we need to show our resilience and be able to cope with that at their stadium. That’s what you have to do, you have to go to the big teams and put on a good performance, so that’s what we’re going to try and do."
Although Leicester needed penalties to emerge past Stockport in the second round of the Carabao Cup, Dewsbury-Hall says it's a result which will nonetheless provide reassurance. A clean sheet, too, will offer reason for optimism to the Club's defensive players ahead of a stern test in west London.
"You always want to win games and winning games breeds confidence," he added. "To get through in the end was nice, it’s a good feeling. We’re just going to try and take that now into the Chelsea game. We had good moments in the game the other night.
"It felt like it just wasn’t going for us, but we know, if we keep putting ourselves in that position, then the goals will drop. It was nice to get a clean sheet the other night and hopefully we’ll keep that defensive solidity up. We’ll take those little bits going into the game."
Small-Sided Games In Training
Take a look at Leicester City's preparations for Saturday's Premier League clash with Chelsea.
Leicester have held leads in two of their opening fixtures so far, but taken just a solitary point. Dewsbury-Hall has now called on his team-mates to show a more ruthless edge to see out games.
"I’ve said it all pre-season, we had a great pre-season," the Academy graduate explained. "Everybody was fit, strong and raring to go. We haven’t had the best results in the league so far. We’ve put ourselves in good positions to get those good results, but for one reason or another, haven’t finished the job.
"We know we can get in those positions and then it’s about, when we’re ahead, just being relentless and not taking our foot off the gas. We know what we need to do. We know what we need to improve on and a I feel like, if we get that right, we can go on a good run."
