LCFC Women Conclude Pre-Season Fixtures Against Brighton
The Seagulls, now a well-established WSL outfit, came away from the behind-closed-doors friendly encounter at Belvoir Drive with a 2-1 success, ending City’s two-game winning run secured thanks to victories over Southampton and then Reading.
Katie Robinson broke the deadlock for Hope Powell’s side in the 27th minute and Megan Connolly fired the visitors into a two-goal lead just before half-time.
Scotland defender Sophie Howard pulled one back for the hosts 10 minutes after the restart, but they were unable to find another way through and force an equaliser in the final game before the international break.
All eyes are on the start of the new Barclays Women’s Super League season, with Everton first up for LCFC Women at Walton Hall Park on Sunday 11 September (1pm kick-off), before hosting Tottenham Hotspur at King Power Stadium seven days later (3pm kick-off).
