Ward: Build On The Momentum
- Leicester City travel to Molineux to face Wolves on Sunday (2pm BST kick-off)
- Goalkeeper Danny Ward says the Foxes must take the chance to keep building momentum
- He also discusses City's recent defensive record, with three shutouts in four games
- Brendan Rodgers' side are 19th in the Premier League table, one place beneath Wolves
The Foxes travel west to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday striving to secure back-to-back wins in the Premier League for the first time in 2022/23. With both sides starting slowly, it's also an opportunity for City to leapfrog Wolves and possibly climb out of the bottom three.
For Ward, who has now registered three clean sheets in four games, it's a chance to keep that optimism rolling on.
"On the back of a nice home win, a great performance, against Leeds, it’s another game we’re got to go into with the same intensity," the goalkeeper said. "We know they’re having a bit of a troubled time, Wolves. We’ve had a poor start ourselves, but we’ve got to take [momentum from the Leeds win] forward.
Ward Eager To Kick On
Danny Ward says the time is now for Leicester City to build on Thursday's win over Leeds with another three points at Wolves.
"It’s something to build on, a foundation. It's always good to get clean sheets, which we’ve managed to get a knack for recently, which always gives you a chance in games of football. We’ll go with a game plan, try and execute that and come away with three points.
"Clean sheets are always brilliant, but we also need to stick the ball in the back of the net, and we did that against Leeds. Hopefully we can take that forward into Sunday."
The Goals - Leicester Beat Leeds
Leicester City were 2-0 winners over Leeds United at King Power Stadium on Thursday night.
Ward, a Wales international, is nevertheless well aware of the quality which Wolves posses. The Molineux side are under the temporary management of Steve Davis following Bruno Lage's departure earlier this season, but boast a squad littered with established internationals.
"We know they’ve got really good technical players going forward," Ward added. "They’ve got a certain way of playing which is quite unique, starting when Nuno [Espirito Santo] was in there a few years ago. We’ll do our homework and we’ll prepare right for that game.
"We’ll take a look and analyse things that they’re good at, and some things which they’re maybe not so good at which we can capitalise on, and we’ll go from there."
