Castagne & Tielemans Feature As Belgium Exit World Cup
- Belgium are knocked out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup
- Timothy Castagne played 90 minutes against Croatia
- Youri Tielemans came off the bench in the 0-0 draw
- Wout Faes was an unused substitute in Al Rayyan
Roberto Martínez's side suffered a group stage exit as a result of the goalless draw at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium, leaving the Red Devils in third position in Group F, on four points, after winning one of their three matches in the competition.
That result, coupled with Morocco's 2-1 victory over Canada, saw the Atlas Lions qualify as group winners, above Croatia, who also progress from second place.
Youri Tielemans
City's midfielder played in all three group games for the Red Devils.
Foxes full-back Castagne started the game in Al Rayyan, while Tielemans was introduced as a 72nd-minute substitute, but neither could assist in finding a way through over the 90 minutes. Centre-back Wout Faes, meanwhile, was an unused substitute.
Daniel Amartey is set to be the next Foxes player in action, on Friday, as Ghana face Uruguay in their final group fixture (3pm GMT kick-off), looking to reach the next stage of the tournament.
