On Monday evening, City’s Under-21s were beaten by a second half penalty in Premier League 2 Division 1 action against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Looking back on the result, Booth was frustrated to leave LCFC Training Ground with nothing.

“I think we were really disappointed as a team to not win the Wolves game,” he told LCFC.com. “We went into it with confidence and believing that we could get all three points.

“But credit to Wolves, they got the goal and we saw that we have places on the pitch to work on. It’s unfortunate that we didn’t get anything from the game.

“It’s been tough following that loss because I think that was the goal for us – to win that game. It could’ve been the turning point for us in the league but we’re looking forward and are motivated to stick together and trying to change our fortunes against Liverpool.”

This weekend poses a chance of redemption, as the Foxes travel to Merseyside to face fifth-placed Liverpool, but the American understands the challenge that lies ahead and is ready to turn things around.

“It’s going to be a tough game,” he admitted. “But we must go there confident and believing in ourselves that we can get a result and get points on the board. Ultimately, it’s about sticking together as a team and fighting until the end to give our best performance.

It’s tough to move away from home but I’m loving every minute of it and making sure that I take every opportunity.

“Ben [Petty] has told us that this is an opportunity in our careers. Being bottom isn’t ever nice, but we need to learn from it and work to get out of these positions.

“It’s up to us to work these things out or fold into our shell, but as a team, we want to stick together and show that we can come out of these situations better.”

The 19-year-old joined the Club back in September of 2022 from MLS Academy side Real Salt Lake. Plagued by injury, the Premier League 2 export has worked through the academy pathway at the Foxes, and confirmed he is enjoying his time here, and hopes that better times are ahead.

Zach Booth has been enjoying the physical challenge of Premier League 2 football.

“I think I’m fitting in well at Leicester – I’m certainly enjoying it here,” Booth continued. “Obviously, I’ve had a few injuries over the past few seasons which have been setbacks, but these are just opportunities that I can learn from.

“The main couple of differences (between football in America vs. England) are the pace and physicality of the game, but for me personally, I’ve settled in well and when I am playing at my highest level, I’ve been enjoying trying to show what I am capable of.

“It’s tough to move away from home but I’m loving every minute of it and making sure that I take every opportunity.”
