Daka: We Have To Work Together

On Sunday, it was confirmed that the Club had reached a mutual agreement with Brendan Rodgers that will see him leave the Club after four years as manager. Adam Sadler and Mike Stowell will oversee the encounter with Villa at King Power Stadium on Tuesday (7:45pm kick-off).
The Foxes fell to a sixth defeat in seven games on Saturday, with Crystal Palace netting a last-minute winner at Selhurst Park, leaving them 19th in the table. Within 24 hours, Rodgers' departure was confirmed, and it's now a short turnaround to Leicester's next league outing.
Daka says all focus should be on uniting as one to preserve the Club's Premier League status.
"The news has just made us all emotional," the Zambia striker told CITY, the Club's official matchday magazine. "For me, he was the one who brought me to this Club and I feel disappointed and partly responsible as well for what has happened.
"I feel I didn’t do enough to help him keep his job. What’s done is done. We can’t change it right now.
"What we have to do is stick together, concentrate and work together as a team to make sure that we stay in the Premier League, which is the target right now.
"I believe we can do that, and we will do that. It’s more a fresh start. I think we just have to not dwell on what we have lost, but we have to look forward to the future."
Daka believes Tuesday's match will present a test of Leicester's mettle, but with the backing of the Blue Army, he's confident they can turn their fortunes around.
"The game is really going to test our mentality, our capabilities and our togetherness," he added.
"I think it’s a good thing that we have a game just a few days after playing because I think everyone is hungry to get results and show the quality that we have as a team. We want to get better results, so I think everyone is looking forward to it and it’s a great challenge playing against Aston Villa because they are also a good side, on a good run.
"Having played two away games, it hasn’t been easy. It’s good to be back, it’s always great to play at home and, without a doubt, we know we’ve always got the Foxes family behind us.
"They are pushing us every time and we know that they are going to come in numbers to support us. We can’t do it by ourselves, but we have to do it together. Not only as players, but with the fans as well. We are stronger together.
"We’re just going to do our part and we also believe that they are going to do their part in being the 12th man."
