Last weekend, the Foxes took a massive step in the right direction in their push for league survival, recording a 2-1 win over Reading at King Power Stadium.

Sam Tierney opened the scoring 20 minutes in but the Berkshire side levelled things up just before the break through Charlie Wellings. In what was a dramatic end to proceedings, Manchester United loanee Carrie Jones stole the points deep in stoppage time.

Following the result, the goalscorer spoke to LCFC TV, and was keen to commend her side’s desire to keep pushing for that elusive winner.

“I don't think I’ve ever scored a more important goal,” Carrie Jones stated. “I think this one tops it off. It's hard to sum up the emotions right now, but as you can see, we're all just so pleased.

We Kept Believing, Says Carrie Jones

Carrie Jones speaks to LCFC TV after the midfielder scored a last-gasp winner against Reading at King Power Stadium.

“We're so proud of each and every one of us. Not only from the result, but the performance as well. We dominated everything. We won all our battles, and we really did fight out there.”

Throughout the second half bombardment, Leicester continued to threaten the Royals’ net, and came close on several occasions, but the 19-year-old revealed how the motivation of three points, and a higher position in the league table, kept City fighting until the final whistle.

“At first it seemed like it wouldn’t go in,” the Foxes No.16 continued. “But we knew we couldn't feel sorry for ourselves. We knew that throughout the game that it was coming, with the number of opportunities we got, with shots on target. We just kept the faith and here we are, 2-1.

“It’s a massive boost to know we're climbing the table. I think we all had the faith. But now, just to see us off the bottom, it's unreal. It's hard to stop the emotions.”
