It's What Dreams Are Made Of, Says McAteer
- Leicester City secured a 2-1 win over Rotherham United on Saturday
- Double goalscorer Kasey McAteer could not hide his delight after the game
- They were his first and second strikes for the Club
- City are now leading the way in the Sky Bet Championship table
McAteer's maiden Foxes strike put his side in front early on at AESSEAL New York Stadium, before Fred Onyedinma's leveller. With just six minutes of normal time remaining, though, McAteer pounced again to seal a fifth win in a row in all competitions. Enzo Maresca's men are now top of the Sky Bet Championship after a perfect start to 2023/24.
"I’ll remember this day for the rest of my life," a thrilled McAteer said. "Scoring for the Club I’ve been at the whole of my life, I can’t put it into words. I’m ecstatic at the moment. It’s very hard to describe, but it’s a great, great feeling.

Enjoy the best of the action from AESSEAL New York Stadium as the Foxes go top of the Sky Championship with a win over Rotherham United.
"It’s what dreams are made of, hearing the fans sing my name. After being here for so long, it’s what you dream of. It's a great day for me, the boys, and my family."
Eager to talk about the team, McAteer, 21, believes Leicester are reaping the rewards of their hard work.
"It's so pleasing," he added. "We had to come back from the goal they equalised with but, in the second half, the boys showed great resilience today. We really dominated the game I think and came away with a well-deserved three points.
McAteer: I Can't Put It Into Words
Kasey McAteer speaks after his two goals sent Leicester City to a 2-1 win at Rotherham United on Saturday.
"At the moment, we never know when we’re beaten, or when we’re going to draw a game. We’re always looking to win. Obviously, in recent weeks, we’ve got goals later on in games. We’re very resilient in those moments. We need to keep that up and we played well today.
"We’ve had a great start to the season. The gaffer said before the game that we need to keep building day by day, living in the present and not thinking too far into the future. We take it game by game. We did that today and got what we deserved."
