Enzo Maresca’s side are looking to pick up where they left off following the latest international break, with six straight league victories behind them heading into the trip to South Wales – a 3pm kick-off on Saturday.

Hermansen himself was away with the Danish national team last week, on the bench for a duo of UEFA EURO 2024 qualifier victories as he awaits a first senior cap. Now back at LCFC Training Ground, it’s full steam ahead as Leicester aim to continue their early season form.

“We’re all looking forward to it,” the shot-stopper began, speaking ahead of the weekend’s clash. “It’s sometimes good to get away and now to get back, we all love being here. We’ve got some fresh energy, had some good resting days and we’re ready to go on.

Leicester City made it five Sky Bet Championship wins in a row with this 2-0 success over Stoke City.

“The mood has been very good since I came here, even before the season started. We’re all in a good place and working in the same direction so we need to keep on going and keep on developing as a team.

“It’s always an honour to defend your country out there but of course I love to be on the pitch, play and be involved, trying to do what I can to help the team, so I look forward to playing again.

“It’s important sometimes just to get a little bit of fresh air. I think we’ve been very good in the last interval between the national team break, to just focus on these six games and work very hard knowing that we’d have to time to breathe afterwards.

“It’s getting into that rhythm but we’ve done it a lot of times so it will be no problem trying to keep that momentum going.”

It’s a big thing to keep clean sheets, especially me and the defence. That’s what we play for and that’s our goal every single game.

Consecutive shutouts against Preston North End and Stoke City were particularly pleasing for the Denmark international, as he grows into the role required 10 games into his Leicester career.

The ex-Brondby IF ‘keeper explained: “For the whole team it’s a big thing to keep clean sheets, especially me and the defence. That’s what we play for and that’s our goal every single game. It’s always a good thing and then we also have a very good chance of winning the games.

“I feel like I’ve been learning every single day in training and I’ve developed a lot already since the first game against Coventry. When you’re in the same place for a long time it’s sometimes good to try something new and develop in some other areas of your game.”

Saturday’s opponents have enjoyed a good run of their own across the last month, moving into the top half of the table and the 23-year-old acknowledged that Leicester are likely to face another tough test at Swansea.com Stadium.

“The games are fantastic to play in, with a great atmosphere every time,” Hermansen expressed. “We know they had a tough start to the season and changed their formation and style of play.

“After that, they won their last four games, so it’s also a team in form and we have to deliver at the highest level to be able to win, but it’s nothing we haven’t played before, system-wise, so we have to find the right solutions.”
