‘We Battled Really Well’ – Justin On Hull Point
- Leicester City took a point away from Saturday’s trip to MKM Stadium
- Hull City twice took the lead in a hotly-contested Sky Bet Championship encounter
- James Justin assessed the performance from the Foxes following full-time
- There’s now a week’s gap between fixtures which the full-back is welcoming
Fabio Carvalho and Anass Zaroury handed the hosts the advantage in each half at MKM Stadium, but both times Leicester showed their powers of recovery to take a share of the spoils. Mads Hermansen also saved a penalty in East Yorkshire to keep his side top of the Sky Bet Championship by three points.
“I feel like it was a tightly contested game,” Justin reflected, having played 90 minutes. “It’s tough when we’re fighting and losing points but all we can do is move to the next game.
Vardy At The Double In Hull Draw
The key moments from Leicester City's 2-2 draw with Hull City, including a Jamie Vardy brace.
“Sometimes it’s difficult when you’re in the heat of the moment. We’ve just got to keep going with our plan. Some of the challenges flying in, which you know you're going to get at this level, and you've got to be prepared for that.
“And for that, we battled really well under the circumstances, and we'll walk away with a point. A draw is not the worst thing for us in the end.”
The Tigers had plenty to play for themselves, chasing a top-six berth, and at this stage of the season, with just nine games to go, every point is valuable in the Foxes’ quest for promotion.
Having players like Jamie Vardy in the side, with all of his experience and know-how, certainly paid off, as City’s No.9 found the net twice in the stalemate.
We’re really disappointed in there that we didn't find the winner, but at the end of the day, we look at it as a point gained.

The defender explained: “Hull were a great side today. We knew it was going to be a difficult match, they play in a good way and a good style of play with a good manager. They're a team who has been in great form, and they're making a strong case for a play-off spot.
“Coming here away at this point in the season is difficult because everyone's fighting for these little things. It’s something that we haven't been able to do as much this season, so it shows we've got something about us.
“We’re really disappointed in there that we didn't find the winner, but at the end of the day, we look at it as a point gained.
“You know what you're going to get (from Vardy). Even at his young age, I feel like he's still got bags and bags of ability and talent. He's still got pace as well, so he knows how to score a goal. And that's why he's on top.”
'Keep Going Now'
Post-match thoughts from James Justin following the conclusion of Leicester City's draw with Hull City in the Sky Bet Championship.
Rest and recovery is now top of the agenda for the squad, prior to meeting Chelsea in the Emirates FA Cup Quarter-Finals next Sunday.
The full-back added: “We move on to next weekend, go back to the drawing board and get ready for the FA Cup. And then after the international break, we'll come back firing. We've done a lot of travelling now over the last week of two difficult away trips and it will be nice to get a week to recover.
“I think some of the lads have played loads of minutes, Hamza [Choudhury] has had a big graft after being out of the team for a little bit. It'll be good to get some ice packs on him and rest up for the FA Cup.”
