Wins For Howard & Cayman In Euro Qualifiers

Foxes aplenty have been involved in international action over the last week, as the race for a spot at UEFA Women's EURO 2025 heats up.

- Sophie Howard featured in 4-1 win for Scotland over Israel
- Janice Cayman played in Belgium's win over Czech Republic

- Jutta Rantala started in Finland's loss to the Netherlands
- CJ Bott's New Zealand beaten by Japan in friendly action
- Emilia Pelgander played in 3-0 win against Australia for Sweden Under-23s

The Barclays Women's Super League may have come to an end, but the footballing calendar continues for LCFC Women players who have been called up to represent their countries, and have recently featured in EURO qualifiers and friendly action across the globe.

Emilia Pelgander was the first player to represent as the midfielder lined up for the Sweden Under-23s in a 3-0 over Australia on Wednesday before right-back CJ Bott got a full 90 under her belt, as New Zealand lost 2-0 to Japan in a friendly, but will face their Asian counterparts once again on Monday afternoon (3pm kick-off).

Friday evening brought a host of European Qualifiers to centre stage, Janice Cayman getting things started for Belgium in a 2-1 win against Czech Republic to remain in the hunt for promotion through the group stages; currently third in League A Group 2, where they will face Czech Republic once more on Tuesday (7pm kick-off).

Fellow Fox Sophie Howard was also on the winning side with Scotland who dispatched Israel 4-1 as City's No.5 played over an hour at Hampden Park as the hosts go top of League 2 Group A, with a reverse fixture against Israel coming up on Tuesday. The action kicks off at 3pm.

Elsewhere in Europe, Jutta Rantala was named in Finland's starting line-up to take on the Netherlands in Rotterdam but unfortunately fell to a 1-0 defeat after a lone goal from Lineth Beerensteyn settled the scoreline, leaving the visitors bottom of League A Group 1, but City's top scorer from last season has the chance of redemption when the two sides meet for a 5pm kick-off on Tuesday at Tammelan Stadion.
