The 18-year-old central midfielder, who joined the Foxes from Chelsea this week, outlined several personal goals and hopes for the campaign ahead during his first chat as a Leicester player.

Capped by England at Under-18s level, having recently featured in the FIFA U17 World Cup, the exciting prospect made a senior appearance for the Blues earlier this year and is hungry to increase his minutes at First Team level in 2024/25, with City returning to the top flight.

“I’m so excited to be here,” Golding revealed in his interview upon signing for the Foxes. “I’m looking forward to making leaps and bounds in my career here at Leicester and working hard to hopefully have a good season in the Premier League.

“I’m looking to get more experience this season and be a big player for the team. I’m really looking forward to playing for the Foxes at King Power Stadium in the Premier League, it’s really a dream come true.”

Joining a squad full of experienced players, Golding is keen to pick their brains and gain insights from his new team-mates when pre-season begins, which will kickstart his Leicester journey.

The England youth international continued: “Obviously the history of the Club speaks for itself, there’s great players here and legends of game such as Jamie Vardy. I’m just looking to soak up as much information as I can from the senior players, to learn from the staff and hopefully have a great season.

“I’m excited to break into the First Team and play with these players. I’m buzzing to meet the lads and hopefully I can get involved and get ready for the season as well and improve on the pitch with the team.”

Known for developing young talents and working with them at England, playing under Steve Cooper is an exciting prospect for Golding, who has already had positive conversations with the new Foxes Manager.

“I can’t wait to get started with training and learning from the Manager,” the youngster expressed. “I’m very excited to learn from Steve Cooper, given some of the players that he’s worked with and his track record of working with young players.

“I’m just ready to get started under him and take as much information as I can to improve in my career. I spoke to him a day ago and he’s really given me confidence just to be myself and show my ability on the pitch when I’m here, so that I can help the team as much as I can.”
