Penning a two-year deal, the experienced Jamaican defender is raring to get going in Leicester blue and hopes her experience on the international and European stage will help her make a difference within the team.
With an impressive CV which includes spells at NJ/NY Gotham, Rangers and most recently a two-year stay at FC Fluery 91 in France’s top division, the 5ft 9 centre-half analyses the upcoming challenge.
“I feel great to sign,” Swaby stated. “It’s going to be a great experience and a good challenge for me as well. Overall, I’m just excited to get going.

“I’ve been wanting to come to the WSL for years now, but I just haven’t had the chance to. I’m happy to be here and can’t wait to get started.”
Winning the Scottish Women’s Premier League with Rangers during the 2021/22 season, the defender went on to talk about how the transfer to Scotland helped her to acclimatise to the professional game.
“Going to Scotland to play for Rangers was my first professional contract abroad, so it was about getting my feet into the water when it came to European football,” Swaby continued. “It was a great experience; I learned a lot and played with/against others at the international level which was useful.
“I think I’ll be able to adjust to the speed of play, the athleticism and the tactical part of the game as well. The players in France are also playing for top national teams so being able to play against them will help me here.

“Like the other clubs I’ve been at, being able to play with top players on the international stage has helped me gather experience to bring here to Leicester.”
When discussing her top abilities and what she can add to the already established quality at Belvoir Drive, the Connecticut-born footballer voiced that while being a defender, she likes to get on the ball frequently and play forward-thinking passes.
The 25-year-old added: “I like to be a playmaker, getting the ball to the midfielders and forwards; break lines and let them do what they can with the ball, but I still like to be involved and be strong in defence as well.
“It’s an amazing stadium (King Power Stadium). When I came here (with Jamaica), there wasn’t that many people in the stands because of the game and our opposition, but coming here as the home team will be a completely different experience which I’m excited for.”
