Bott's New Zealand Exit Paris 2024

New Zealand were eliminated from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games after a third consecutive loss in the group stages.

- CJ Bott's New Zealand eliminated from group stages of Paris 2024 Olympics
- Deanne Rose remains an alternate option for Canada who reached Quarter-Final stage
- Courtney Nevin was an unused alternate option for Australia who also depart the summer Olympics

Despite an CJ Bott assist in the third and final group stage game, New Zealand found themselves knocked out of the competition on Wednesday evening following a 2-1 reverse to France, as the Ferns finished bottom of Group A with zero points.

City's right-back was a constant throughout the tournament, playing every minute in all three matches; opening with a 2-1 loss to Canada, followed by a 2-0 defeat to Colombia before their fate was sealed by the host nation at Groupama Stadium.

CJ Bott featured in every single minute that New Zealand played during the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Marie-Antoinette Katoto opened the scoring little after 20 minutes but New Zealand drew back level just before the hour mark when Bott assisted Kate Taylor. Unfortunately, the lead didn't last long as the PSG striker found her second just minutes after the restart.

It proved to be an abrupt end to Bott's involvement in Paris, but the Foxes No.4 can hold her head high, having been part of the elite-level competition that saw her attributes recognised on the international stage, as she now recovers and prepares for her return to Belvoir Drive, where she will form part of Amandine Miquel's Leicester squad this upcoming season.

Elsewhere, Australia finished third in Group B with three points, and also exit the competition. Courtney Nevin did not feature, but was with the Matildas squad as a alternate option.

Deanne Rose, also yet to play, remains in France as a fellow alternate option for Canada and may have the chance to appear with the North American side progressing to the quarter-final stage, where they'll face Germany on Saturday 3 August (6pm BST kick-off).
