Taggart: Deserved Win For Solid City
- The former Fox identified two key characteristics following Saturday’s Premier League triumph
- Taggart credited Craig Shakespeare for leading City to five consecutive wins in all competitions
LCFC Radio commentator Gerry Taggart believes Leicester City recorded a routine win against a physical Stoke City side on Saturday.
The former Leicester and Potters centre half detected two pivotal characteristics at full-time after the Premier League triumph at King Power Stadium.
Taggart felt the Foxes’ pace and movement was too much for Mark Hughes’ men, who were thanks to superb efforts from Wilfred Ndidi and Jamie Vardy.
Speaking on LCFC Radio at the full-time whistle, Taggart said: “It was a good solid performance today. It was a difficult game for Leicester City to get over but in the end it was all too easy for them.
“Complacency might have set in in the second half. In the first half, you could see that Stoke were struggling to cope with the pace and the movement of Leicester. It was all a little bit too easy for them and it was a well-deserved three points.
“Congratulations to Craig Shakespeare for what he’s achieved so far since he’s taken over. Things are looking really good at the minute for this club. It’ll be a busy month ahead with eight games in April, so it’s a perfect start to the month.”
