Kees: Nice To Get My First Minutes

Wednesday evening at Pirelli Stadium saw three LCFC Women debuts made in a 1-1 draw with Bristol City in the Women's League Cup and one of those, Kees, was excited to get her first minutes since returning from a pre-season injury.
Frustrated to not see out the victory in Burton, the Belgium defender saw areas that the team need to work on, as they continue to hunt for that elusive first win of the season.
"I think that the first half needed to be a little bit more aggressive on the press because we needed to play higher and be 100 per cent to win the ball and offensively we need to be more efficient," Kees voiced. "We need to get more shots on goal, otherwise we're not scoring so that's important.
"I'm really happy to play my first game because I had a little injury in pre-season, but it's better to have it then instead of now. I feel good in the team and it was nice to get my first minutes and chance on the field for Leicester."
Arriving from Oud-Heverlee Leuven in the summer, Kees is hoping that the minutes in the tank midweek will put her in good stead for helping the team when they return to Barclays Women's Super League action this weekend against Crystal Palace.
The No.22 added: "We have these League Cup games, and these are ones I can play in and for others to play and get some minutes, so it's nice to have these games. It's just a shame to draw and then lose on penalties.
"Of course it's better if we win but it's a process and we can build on that. So if we keep doing what we're doing, I'm sure we will start winning games."
