Sitting 17th in the standings at this early stage of the campaign, the Foxes have claimed three points from their opening six encounters, though a late defeat to Arsenal prevented Steve Cooper’s men from adding to their tally last time out.
AFC Bournemouth now await on Saturday, as the Cherries head to King Power Stadium for a 3pm BST kick-off, with Ayew targeting maximum points to kickstart a run of form which he is confident Leicester are more capable of, having shown glimpses of the level they can reach.
With home advantage on City’s side, there is an eagerness within the camp to secure that maiden win on Filbert Way, as the Ghana international explained while speaking from the Club’s training base in the lead up to this weekend’s fixture.
“To be fair, I think this is our time to pick up some points, because looking at the fixtures, these are the games that we have to – especially at home,” the 32-year-old commented at LCFC Training Ground earlier this week. “Obviously we are trying to make our home ground a fortress.
“It’s not been easy for the fans and for us the players, because we are not far from a win and we’ve been doing well, performing well, but the problem is that maybe we haven’t been performing well for 90 minutes.
“We just need to make sure that we perform for 90 minutes and then we will be fine and I’m not worried about it. This weekend is a massive game for us. We know that and we’ll be ready for it.”
