Four games into the new Barclays Women's Super League season, and City have two points, most recently after recording a first clean sheet of the season in a stalemate draw with Aston Villa last weekend.

Hoping to build on the defensive performance at Villa Park, Momiki believes that Leicester can regain their form from pre-season as they aim to head into the international break with a first competitive win of the campaign.

"We all think that the pre-season went well and the first two games were good, even though the results didn't come as we wanted," the Japanese midfielder told the media at Belvoir Drive.

"But the last two games, we didn't perform how we wanted. We've lost Jutta [Rantala] to injury now so we need someone to come up with the goals. We've been working on our process but I think it needs some small changes to get that winning formula.

Momiki spoke about the importance of the fans' enthusiasm.

"We are all on the same page as a team. It's going to be tough until the results do come. We are a tight squad that works hard together, we're aiming for three points this weekend to kickstart our season."

After joining in the January transfer window last season, Momiki is adapting to her first full season in Leicester colours and life in the East Midlands, and is keen to work hard every day to help the team progress forward.

"It was always my dream to come and play in England," City No.29 continued. "It's the best country to play football in so it's great that I had the opportunity to come here, and I just keep working everyday.

"The passion for football is massive here (in England), not just the players and staff but also the fans. It's fun to play wherever we play, but of course at King Power Stadium in front of our own fans.

I know that they lost a couple of big players, so I think the situation is different to last year, but it will still be a tough game.

Yuka Momiki Talking about Everton

"I have a lot of friends outside of football in London, and getting time to see them really helps me to refocus, by not talking about football. I think I've got a good balance in my life now I've settled here."

Analysing this Sunday's opponents, who also have two points to their name and have scored just the one goal, Momiki believes it will be another tough test on Filbert Way, against a team that look different to last season.

The 28-year-old added: "Both us and Everton have different players now; I know that they lost a couple of big players, so I think the situation is different to last year, but it will still be a tough game.

"We need to focus on this weekend and not worry about what happened last year or previous weeks this season, and just go into the game with full confidence."
