Surreal To Be Back, Says Cain
- Hannah Cain returned to action following a second ACL injury of her career
- She played half-an-hour in LCFC Women's 1-0 win over Everton
- The Welsh forward shared her emotional thoughts after the game
The Foxes winning their first game of the new season was the story from Sunday afternoon, thanks to an early Yuka Momiki goal, but the fairytale came later on when Leicester's No.21 made her first appearance since a WSL outing against Chelsea 330 days earlier.
Speaking after the full-time whistle, the forward was full of emotions to have recovered from her second ACL injury, and shared her thoughts on the day's experience from her point of view.
"It's a little bit surreal," Cain began. "It hasn't quite sunk in yet. Everyone asked me what my emotions were like before the game and I was excited but I don't think it will sink in just yet.

Close to scoring on her return.
"It was really good, and really good to get a first three points of the season. The girls put in a massive shift, and it was a strong and challenging 30 minutes for sure.
"The guys prepped me a bit beforehand to make sure I was okay, so I knew I was coming on. The closer it was getting, I was looking at the clock. When you do come on, you go into auto-pilot and get into the game.
"It was good, I was full of adrenaline and it was a good shift."
Running onto a through ball from Janice Cayman, Cain was close to scoring with her first touch, but saw her best opportunity on target saved, after turning the defender left and right, with new energy in her legs.
"That would have been the perfect story really wouldn't it (scoring when I came on)," the 25-year-old continued. "I probably should've scored but it doesn't matter - my miracle was to actually get back on the pitch. I'll take what I've got and hopefully next time I'll put them away.

Hitting the pitch for the first time in 330 days.
"The girls did their job before I came on, I just had to stick to the game plan and help see it out so credit to the players that got us to that position. A great performance all round."
Now heading into an international break, Cain will join up with her Wales team-mates before aiming for more minutes and contributions for Leicester next month.
She added: "The international break for me is to get a bit of change of scenery, get back to being within the Wales setup. Hopefully it'll be a good trip and then I'll be back in November to keep going.
"I'm still building at the moment and then come the next Leicester game, I'll have even more experience and training time so will be more prepped for the following games."
