This year’s Black History Month theme was Reclaiming Narratives, which focused on uncovering and sharing stories of Black history and culture, along with challenging the narratives that have historically marginalised Black achievements and to highlight stories of resilience, success and empowerment.
Leicester City’s Diversity & Inclusion Lead, John Olaleye, said: “Black History Month reminds us of the need to celebrate and recognise the diversity that defines our city and Club.

“We’re proud to champion inclusion to help ensure Leicester City is a place where everyone – regardless of background or identity – feels valued, respected and safe. This event was a step towards making that commitment tangible and enduring.”
Guest speakers from the PFA, Kick It Out, Show Racism the Red Card and the academic world were in attendance, along with colleagues from Leicester City in the Community and Nottingham Forest Community Trust, who offered insights into their work and the impact being made at local level.
Leicester City’s Premier League game against Nottingham Forest on Friday 25 October was dedicated to the No Room For Racism campaign, an initiative highlighting top-flight clubs’ ongoing commitment to tackling discrimination and promoting equality, diversity and inclusion.
