Sunday afternoon saw LCFC Women earn two points in Group D at Broadfield Stadium, after a 0-0 draw was followed up by a penalty shootout success in Crawley.

Stepping up first to score her spot-kick, the French defender spoke to the media after the game and stated she was pleased with the team's effort to get a positive result.

"I think we had the better performance today," Thibaud stated. "We defended well like we have in the last few games, but we also had a lot of chances attacking so the next step is to score the goal.

Shootout Success For Leicester's Women In League Cup

The highlights from Broadfield Stadium as LCFC Women earned two points in the Women's League Cup.

"We did well to get closer and create more opportunities but we did the job with the penalties and everyone is happy with the result.

"We are frustrated because we didn't score but in games before today we weren't getting a lot of opportunities so it was good to create more today. The next step is to score.

"It's always frustrating when it ends 0-0 and you have a lot of chances but we will keep working on it and we know we can keep improving."

Going on to speak the defensive stability in the side, Thibaud mentioned the strength they feel from both 'keepers in the squad, commending the effort from Lize Kop in the cup clash.

She continued: "We are really lucky because both our of 'keepers are really good. Lize [Kop] is an international and Jani (Janina Leitzig) has been playing well in the league so it's not very often you see two great goalkeepers in the same team.

We did the job with the penalties and everyone is happy with the result.

"We are lucky to have them and Lize today again showed that she has the levels and I'm happy for her to have the save in the shootout because she deserves it."

Her last word was to wish the best to the players going on international duty, speaking about the tough challenges that await them when they return in a weeks' time.

"An international break is always special," Thibaud added. "Everyone is going to play for their countries so I hope they enjoy and then when they come back, we will focus on the next game. It will be tough but we've proved today we can do it."
