Okazaki: Stick Together

- The Foxes fell to a 1-0 loss to AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Tuesday 

- Claudio Ranieri’s men are yet to secure three points away from King Power Stadium 

- Okazaki insists City showed fight on the south coast but were unlucky not to score 

Shinji Okazaki has called for togetherness after Leicester City succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Tuesday night. 

Marc Pugh’s 34th minute strike, on his return from injury for the hosts, proved to be the only goal of the game on the south coast with the Foxes yet to register an away win in the Premier League this season. 

Okazaki came on at half-time, in place of Islam Slimani, and was unfortunate with a host of opportunities not to at least score an equaliser for the Premier League champions against Eddie Howe’s men. 

Speaking to LCFC TV in the immediate aftermath, the Japan forward said: “Today, we saw our spirit at the end. We didn’t score, though, but we were always in with a chance of getting back. We are disappointed. 

“We fought so hard in the last game so maybe we were a little bit tired in the first half. In the second half it was always 1-0, but we wanted to score. 

“We were more aggressive and pressed high. We need to be together. 

“It’s an away game against a neighbour next at Stoke City. We change our mind and stick together. We need to keep together and fight.”
