Further Accolades For Leicester City CEO

- Susan Whelan named Business Executive of the Year both in the large business category and overall 

- Dublin-born Susan also set to receive later this month

Leicester City Chief Executive Susan Whelan was again among the awards on Thursday night - picking up two prizes at the Leicester Mercury Business Executive Awards 2016. 

Susan was named Business Executive of the Year both in the large-sized business category and in the overall category, earning the deserved recognition of some the region's most respected business figures. 

Voted for by experts across a variety of sectors in the Leicestershire business community, the Leicester Mercury's Business Executive Awards are an annual celebration of the outstanding achievements of the region's leading companies and entrepreneurs and the personnel that inspire their success. 

Susan was nominated alongside Doug Crawford of My Home Move and HKS Holdings' Shane Thakrar in the large business category. In the overall award, the other nominees were Leicester Riders' Kevin Routledge and Adey Steel's Andrew Adey - winners of the small and medium-sized business awards respectively. 

Susan said:“To be recognised by some of the region’s most highly regarded business leaders is a tremendous honour, particularly alongside some outstanding nominees and winners from such a thriving city – my congratulations go to each of them.

Thursday night's double completes a fine week for City's CEO, who has also been confirmed as the recipient for the Outstanding Contribution to Business in Britain award at the forthcoming Irish Post Awards. 

Holder of a dual role at Leicester City and King Power International, where she is Senior Executive Vice President, Susan has been Leicester City's Chief Executive since 2011, overseeing the Club's transformation from Premier League hopefuls to champions of England in just five seasons.
