Claudio Ranieri And Jamie Vardy Scoop Monthly Awards

- Ranieri takes the Premier League Manager of the Month crown 

- Vardy wins the Premier League Player of the Month award for the second month in succession – only the fifth player ever to do so 

- November’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United saw Vardy set a new Premier League record of scoring in 11 consecutive games 

- Ranieri collected two Manager of the Month awards during his spell in charge at Chelsea 

It was a clean sweep for Leicester City in November’s Barclays Premier League awards as Claudio Ranieri and Jamie Vardy both picked up trophies this morning. 

The awards come on the back of yet another sensational month for Ranieri’s team and for Vardy himself, whose goals have helped the Club surge to the top of the league going into Monday night’s game against reigning champions Chelsea. 

After also collecting October’s Player of the Month Award, Vardy becomes just the fifth player in Premier League history to win the award in consecutive months – after Robbie Fowler, Dennis Bergkamp, Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Kane. 

The nomination was Vardy’s third in succession while Ranieri was also named among the August and October Manager of the Month nominees - underlining just how impressive City’s start to the season has been. 

November saw Ranieri, who twice won the award while in charge of Chelsea, guide Leicester to victories at home to Watford and away at Newcastle United before a 1-1 King Power Stadium draw with Manchester United to see out the month. 

Vardy scored in each of those games, with his strike against United seeing him set of new Premier League record of scoring in 11 consecutive fixtures – beating the previous mark of 10 set by Ruud Van Nistelrooy. 

Also nominated for the Player of the Month award were Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Watford’s Troy Deeney and Liverpool’s Dejan Lovren, while Ranieri beat Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp, Everton’s Roberto Martinez and Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino to the Manager of the Month award.
