Ranieri: We Give The Maximum
- The Foxes take on Manchester United in the FA Community Shield at Wembley Stadium
- Ranieri confirmed he has no new injury worries ahead of the fixture
Ahead of Sunday’s FA Community Shield clash with Manchester United, manager Claudio Ranieri says his Leicester City side will give their all at Wembley Stadium.
The champions of England take on the 2016 FA Cup winners in their final fixture before the 2016/17 Premier League campaign begins.
And with the opportunity to secure a piece of silverware, the City boss, who will manage at Wembley Stadium for the first time in his career, knows both his side and Manchester United will be eager to record a win at England’s highest-capacity stadium.
He said: “We give the maximum and I think also Manchester will give the maximum. The two teams want to win it. I’m very excited.
“It’s good because when I was in the final of the FA Cup, Wembley was being rebuilt, so we played in Cardiff – Chelsea against Arsenal – and that is the first time.”
Ranieri confirmed he has no fresh injury worries ahead of the clash with Jose Mourinho’s outfit, and says his side are still building up a base level of fitness in preparation for their Premier League opener against Hull City on 13 August.
He added: “They have trained very well, but it’s not possible for us to see the last Leicester. We are growing up now in pre season and are more or less 60 per cent. I hope we recover well. Everybody is okay.
“Tomorrow, I’ll think about the first XI and then I’ll watch the match against [Manchester United] and see how they respond.”
