Ranieri Full Of Confidence
- The City boss wants his players to find a winning solution against the Gunners
- Arsene Wenger’s men visit King Power Stadium on Saturday evening (5.30pm kick-off)
Leicester City are not short of confidence as they gear up for their Premier League clash with Arsenal on Saturday, according to manager Claudio Ranieri.
The Foxes take to the King Power Stadium turf for the first time this campaign, as they aim to register their first 2016/17 victory.
A narrow defeat to Hull City came last time out, and while disappointed with the result, Ranieri’s men remain positive ahead of the Gunners’ visit.
Arsenal were the only side to beat City both home and away last season, but Ranieri revealed that will not affect the Foxes’ preparations for the match.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s fixture, the City manager said: “We lost twice [to Arsenal last season] and we know it is a very good team with a good manager, but we are ready and we will try to do our best. We have to try and find the right solution to beat them.
“There are no secrets – I’m always confident. When I feel my players work so well, I’m always confident. The balance is very easy to go up and down but it is important to work well.
“The big teams never lack in confidence. When you win you are more confident, but also we lost the first match.
“I watched Arsenal’s match. They played so well the first half. In the second half they have something strange and Liverpool scored three times, but after they came back it was a very good match. For this reason, when you play against big teams like Arsenal, you have to be very, very confident.”
While fully aware of the task ahead, Ranieri believes fighting spirit and hard work will be vital throughout his squad again this term.
He added: “We’re very concentrated. We know - I told them so many times to not repeat. This season, it will be harder than the last, but our strength is the same. We have a good spirit and we work very well on the training ground.
“When you work so well during the week and you try to win the match then after you lose. You imagine, some athletes in the Olympic Games have four years to prepare and they lose, this is our life. We have to do everything right and accept what is our destiny.”
