The Ghanian scored from the spot at the end of Leicester City's reverse to Chelsea.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Wednesday’s Hong Kong opener against West Bromwich Albion, City manager Craig Shakespeare said Huth’s surgery had been a success.
He said: "Robert reported back for pre-season and got into some discomfort with his ankle. He's had an operation and thankfully it was successful.
"It's unfortunate for Robert but we thought it might be worse. We're expecting him to be out for around six to eight weeks."
Leicester kick-off the new Premier League season on Friday 11 August with a trip to Arsenal.
Their Premier League Asia Trophy campaign begins with a game against West Brom at the Hong Kong International Stadium on Wednesday, which kicks off at 1800 local time (1100 BST). The Foxes will then meet either Liverpool or Crystal Palace at the same venue on Saturday.
