Under-23s Duo Join Community Football Camp
- The LCFC Community Trust took their Football Camps to Alderman Richard Hallam Primary School
- Alex Pascanu and Josh Knight joined Gerry Taggart and Matt Elliott for the event
- The Trust aims to teach youngsters a wide range of skills, helping them to enhance their game
The defensive duo, who are both now ever-present for the Club’s Development Squad, were flanked by Foxes legends Gerry Taggart and Matty Elliott for the exclusive session on Friday afternoon.
During each course, experienced LCFC Community Trust coaches teach youngsters a wide range of skills, helping them to enhance their game – with a focus on individual improvements for all participants.
Speaking to LCFC TV, School Sports Officer Ryan Bromyard explained: “We are running an October Football Camp from Monday to Friday.
Former Foxes Join In On Community Coaching Course
Leicester City legends Matt Elliott and Gerry Taggart were joined by Development Squad duo Alex Pascanu and Josh Knight to sample one of LCFC Community's coaching courses at Alderman Richard Hallam Primary School.
“This is one of our Premier League Primary Stars schools so it’s great to see the kids come out and have fun. It’s unbelievable to have the lads here.
“They’ve been fantastic and taken part in all the activities. It’s really, really important because the kids are absolutely buzzing to be here.
“When the players turned up, you could see it. It’s brilliant for them and for the Under-23s for them to be involved in the community and to see how the Football Camps work.”
Pascanu, City's 2016/17 Academy Player of the Season, was thrilled to meet the Club’s young supporters and took the opportunity to pass on some wisdom during the session.
He said: “It’s good to get out of the training ground for a bit and spend a few hours with the kids. Hopefully all of them will be Leicester City fans in a few years.
“There are a lot of City shirts out there and it shows how far the Club has come. Loads of them have [Jamie] Vardy or [Riyad] Mahrez on the back of their shirts and that can only be a good thing.
“I think that is something good to get involved. When I was younger I used to look up to the older players and it’s great for the kids to get a feel of what it’s like.
“It’s a good project and a lot of the kids will remember what we’re doing here today.”
