Puel On City's Prospects

New Leicester City manager Claude Puel speaks during his pre-Everton press conference.

“This squad have had fantastic moments over a few years,” the Frenchman said.

“They have also had low moments too, at the beginning of this season, but it is important to have consistency. For the moment the most important thing is to stay focused on Everton.

“It is a special match, they have changed their manager and, for me, it is my first game as manager. The two last games, we had two wins which is good for confidence.

The Club is my colours now. I think about the badge and I defend the values of the Club, of the city.

“We need to keep the good levels of confidence. I will try to get to know my players and my staff. We have just two days to keep this squad confident and keep this good feeling.

“We will see step-by-step if we can change something about the structure.

“I think it’s important to have this experience. I know the Premier League. It is a different system with different teams. Every season it improves.”

The responsibility of managing Leicester City is not lost on the former AS Monaco, Lille, Lyon, Nice and Southampton boss and he admitted his enthusiasm to get started.

“The Club is my colours now,” he added. “I think about the badge and I defend the values of the Club, of the city.
