Taggart: Mesmerising Foxes On A Roll
- LCFC Radio pundit Gerry Taggart was impressed by Leicester City's performance on Sunday
- Claude Puel's men were dominant in the first half against Everton, a 2-0 success at King Power Stadium
- The Foxes came out on top courtesy of goals from Jamie Vardy and Demarai Gray
- Taggart says Puel's men are now on a roll and can use the result to spur them on further
The LCFC Radio pundit and former Foxes defender was delighted to see Puel’s tactical shift to a 4-2-3-1 stratagem pay dividends against the Toffees at King Power Stadium.
Jamie Vardy scored the first goal of the Puel era in the 18th minute before Demarai Gray doubled City’s advantage just before the half-hour mark.
“It’s a fantastic result,” Taggart said on Matchday Live. “Obviously coming into this game, it was a big game for both clubs and there was a lot of pressure on Claude Puel in his first game.
“I have to say the first half performance was mesmerising at times. In the end, that proved to be the difference between the two teams.
“That two-goal advantage at half-time saw Leicester City through. Everton improved in the second half but you have to say it was an easy win.”
While Everton’s problems undoubtedly helped the Foxes seal victory, Taggart says Puel’s men expressed themselves well on Filbert Way.
It’s onwards and upwards for Leicester City now.

“Everton struggled to have any cutting edge in the final third,” he added. “You can see why they are where they are and City are on a bit of run now.
“It’s onwards and upwards for Leicester City now.”
