PL Cup Preview: Portsmouth Head To Holmes Park
The Foxes opened their campaign with a 3-1 success at Barnsley in October, courtesy of Admiral Muskwe’s double and a 30-yard screamer from Josh Gordon in south Yorkshire.
Pompey’s visit to Whetstone presents the opportunity for City to get back to winning ways following a 2-2 draw (4-2 loss on penalties) at Morecambe last Tuesday.
Ahead of the 7pm kick-off, here are five things you may not already know…
Beaglehole’s pride
Beaglehole Reflects On Tough Challenge
Development Squad boss Steve Beaglehole assessed his side's Checkatrade Trophy clash against Morecambe as the Foxes lost out on penalties after a 2-2 draw at full-time.
Under-23s manager Steve Beaglehole declared himself ‘exceptionally proud’ of Leicester City's youngsters following their 4-2 shoot-out reverse at Morecambe.
Despite the result, the Foxes still progressed to Round 2 of the Checkatrade Trophy after Fleetwood Town defeated Carlisle United 24 hours later.
Beaglehole said: "I'm exceptionally proud. It was a very, very difficult game. I don't think we started as well as we have done in recent weeks but it's very difficult to play these games.”
