Iborra Hails City's 'Strong Mentality'
- Leicester City put in a ‘complete’ performance against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, according to Vicente Iborra
- The Spanish midfielder scored City’s final goal during the 4-1 win at the Hawthorns
- Iborra says his objective is to help the team as he continues to work hard in training
After Jamie Vardy cancelled out Salomon Rondon’s opener with a stunning volley, the Foxes took the lead through Riyad Mahrez, before Kelechi Iheanacho and Iborra were also on target at the Hawthorns.
It was a victory in which City showed just how devastating they can be going forward – encouraging signs ahead of a crucial Emirates FA Cup Quarter-Final tie with Chelsea at King Power Stadium on Sunday.
“We showed a good, strong mentality today,” Iborra told LCFC TV after the full-time whistle on Saturday. “It’s a very important win for us.
Great performance from the team. Strong mentality and character to get back into the game. Thank’s to our fans for the support as always. ⚽️🦊 Gran actuación del equipo. “We were losing and after we started to play. We had a very good goal from [Jamie] Vardy and in the second half, we were better than West Brom.
“We played well the ball and we had some goals. We had a very complete game today.”
Iborra’s second goal in Leicester colours came as a result of a powerful header at the back post, as the Spaniard converted Marc Albrighton’s pin-point corner.
I continued to fight and I continued to train 100 per cent and now I have my opportunity.

“It’s very important for me this goal. I want to help the team, that’s my objective,” he added. “The last month has been very difficult for me because I only played a little bit.
“I want to help and I can’t in that moment, but I never gave up. I continued to fight and I continued to train 100 per cent and now I have my opportunity.
“I’m very happy first of all for the result and the team and second, to help with one goal.”
