Maguire's clearances have got the Foxes out of trouble this season.
City have kept a total of seven clean sheets in the Premier League this season, a fact which can be accredited to the sterling efforts of Maguire and his defensive colleagues. With 141 clearances to his name since August, the England international defender has made more interventions than any of his Foxes team-mates while also ranking favourably in the overall top flight charts.

The 25-year-old is adept at finding his team-mates in good positions.
Maguire’s ability to run with the ball at his feet has also drawn attention this season - and the 25-year-old has often played a considerable role at both ends of the pitch for Leicester. Second only to Ndidi (1,515) in locating his team-mates, Maguire effortlessly links defence with midfield, shepherding the ball into more offensive positions with composure while in possession for the Foxes.

Maguire is one of just two players not to have missed a Premier League game this season.
One of just two ever-presents in Claude Puel’s squad, alongside Schmeichel, Maguire’s reliability at the back is emphasised by the confidence he commands from both Puel and England manager Gareth Southgate. In his first full season at the Club, the former Hull defender has already become a firm fans’ favourite on Filbert Way for this reason, providing a reassuring presence in the heart of defence.

A clear indicator of performance for any defender is the amount of tackles made throughout a campaign. With 48 and counting, Maguire is safely nestled towards the top of this chart with a figure bettered only by Ndidi’s magnificent total of 125, by far the best in the Premier League so far.
