A total of 21 players featured for the Foxes in their second fixture of pre-season, with Danny Ward making an impressive maiden appearance for the Club.
It was Yevhen Seleznyov who, inside the opening minute, drilled wide of the mark, before Papy Mendy sent a fierce drive just over the bar with 20 minutes gone.
The lively Seleznyov threatened again six minutes later, forcing Ward into an excellent stop from close range – the Wales international positioning himself well on his line.
Another Ward save followed, as he once again used all of his reach to palm away a strike from distance by Seleznyov.
Eldin Jakupović was introduced at half-time in place of Ward, while just after the hour mark, nine more Foxes were handed game time by Claude Puel.
One of those stars was Leonardo Ulloa, who after a superb cross from Josh Knight, struck the underside of the crossbar with 17 minutes to go.
More good work from Knight followed in the closing stages, but substitute Islam Slimani couldn’t meet the young defender’s delivery and there would be no breakthrough in Austria.
Major moment
Leonardo Ulloa struck the crossbar for the Foxes in the second period after emerging from the bench.
City’s best opportunity of the game fell to Leonardo Ulloa, who throughout his Leicester career has always provided a significant aerial threat.
Academy graduate Josh Knight provided the ball in for Ulloa, who sent a header crashing onto the woodwork after getting up well.
Who impressed?
Danny Ward made his first appearance for Leicester City on Wednesday.
After joining the Club just five days ago from Premier League rivals Liverpool, goalkeeper Danny Ward made his debut for City against Akhisarspor.
With opposition striker Yevhen Seleznyov lively from the off, Ward was called into action twice in the space of just six minutes, making two brilliant stops to deny the Ukrainian striker.
Coming up…
Vicente Iborra battles for the ball in midfield at Stadion Villach Lind.
City’s second fixture in Austria comes on Saturday 28 July (2pm kick-off BST) when they head to Wörthersee Stadion to take on Udinese.
