With the scoreline at 1-0 thanks to Nicolai Jorgensen’s effort, Schmeichel pulled off a crucial save to turn away Gareth Bale’s free-kick with just seven minutes to play.
The Danes then doubled their lead shortly after through a Martin Braithwaite volley, and while Bale went on to net in injury time, Schmeichel’s nation secured all three points to move up to League A of the Nations League.

The 21-year-old attacker’s nation fell to a narrow 1-0 loss following a solitary first-half strike from Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Diogo Jota.
On Saturday, Kelechi Iheanacho (Nigeria) and Çağlar Söyüncü (Turkey) could both add to their tally of international appearances, while young defender Alex Pascanu will aim to make his senior debut for Romania.
